If they are only challenging the mandate to purchase a private, for-profit products, then YES, I hope they do and I hope they succeed. If the USSC deems that part unconstitutional, it doesn't kill the whole bill.

18. No. The decision will be as narrow as possible.

The lawsuit is against mandate of private purchased goods (in this case Health Care insurance) which is outside the delegated powers of federal govt.

As such that provision would be unenforceable. Congress could remedy this by offering public option as a govt program.

Something similar to:
All Americans must have credible coverage or ability to self insure or they will be enrolled in public health plan (public option).

The public option would be a single risk pool with premiums paid via payroll deductions (just like FICA, and taxes) and subsidies available for lower income Americans.

The lawsuit is not against the 1200 page HCR bill. It is against the provision that govt has the authority by Commerce Clause to mandate participation in commerce (forcing one to buy insurance).
