So that when other DU'ers open them, they'd hear an "AIIIIEEEEEE!" or "KABOOM!" or the Hallelujah Chorus, or, for posts about Sarah Palin, a resounding "Duuuuuuuhhhh..."

It'd make this place a little more exciting...

Reminds me of the subject of animated avatars, a pet peeve of mine, DU isn't as bad as some other websites with tons of animated avatars on endless play loops, thankfully

Note: The single thing that sends me to my back button instantly is any sound emerging from my PC's speakers when I land on a website. It's an instantaneous. Normally, I hit the backspace key, since my hand is not on the mouse.
