Choice Quotes:

LINCOLN: Now my friends I’m almost in and the millennium is going to begin so ask what you will and it will be granted.

FOLLOWERS:

Oh what a beautiful man he is, I feel a “passionate attraction” every time I see his lovely face.

I represent the free love element and expect to have free license to carry out its principles.

Dah white man hab no rights dat collud persons am bound to spect. I want dat understood.

I want womens rights enforced, and man reduced in subjection to her authority.

I want everybody to have a share of everybody elses property.

I want a hotel established by government, where people that aint inclined to work, can board free of expense and be found in rum and tobacco.

Check it out, it's kind of big:

3. Sure it has. They were protesting government programs
HCR is not a government program. It is a give-away of public money to corporations.

5. Yep. The programs FDR started actually got the money and help to the people
and busted the capitalists' balls.

7. Very ambiguous post.
Do you agree with the cartoonist's editorial position or not.

What precisely is the same?

Government bailouts?

Red baiting?

10. Accusations of Marxism. Not really ambiguous.
There are dozens of political cartoons like this, especially in 1935 during the passage of Social Security, of which it was said by Republicans, "This will be the end of America".

The cartoon is clear, but the OP's supplied commentary could be taken to mean support for, or opposition to the editorialist's position.

The fact that s/he posted that it's not a reference to HCR is even more confusing. So the Obama administration is a bunch of wild-eyed bolsheviks who just happen to love bailing out capitalist fat cats? (TARP)

8. Actually, and thankfully, the US did learn from socialism.
Social Security, TVA, WPA, all these things were adopted only because of the emergence of the workers movement, which itself is inextricably linked to socialism.
