The February stop-gap measure of federal extensions (including both the Emergency Unemployment Compensation and Extended Benefits programs), the additional $25 per week in everyone’s benefits check, and COBRA subsidies for jobless workers are set to expire on April 5, 2010. Although the House has passed another 30-day extension of the filing deadline, the Senate has so far neglected to do so. We are urging the Senate to take immediate action this week and make sure that federal UI supplements are not allowed to expire.
