HISTORIC moment
everyone keeps talking about how we've had to wait for sooooo long for a health bill. that this is the product of sooooo much work. but we could've had 94% coverage 5 years ago if they had passed what is essentially the same bill as proposed in 1993 (back then it was a republican proposal). how's that for history. welcome to the future...it looks like 1993...except democrats champion republican ideas.

1. Chuck Grassley with all the fighting and voting against it
is now using it to say he authored some of the provisions. And before November I bet they have the public convinced that they are the ones who voted for and passed it. Wait and see. Since the popularity of this bill is going up, they are going to take credit.

2. Historic alright
It was the day we officially, legally, defined buying health insurance as an individual obligation. Health CARE is still optional however.

3. You have to account for the passage of 16 years
And the post 911 march rightward.

It's not as if none of that happened.

4. just saying that they're taking credit
for a bill that was stolen from a 16 year-old republican health insurance bill.

in 1993 it was no good.

but in 2010 it is a historic triumph for democrats.
