I've had this pop up from two brainwashed family members:

"They passed a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke. What could possibly go wrong?"

Yeah, yeah - it's unoriginal, it's from a right-wing email and maybe I shouldn't bother. But I want to.

Has anyone seen a; 1.) short, 2.) snarky, 3.) reality-based response to this particular bit of garbage? I so want to hand one of them her ass on a platter.

I usually respond with something about what this bill does do (help seniors with free preventative care & closing the donut hole so they don't have to choose between food & medicine, keeping insurance companies from dumping you when you get sick, etc) & then end with "but I know you have the right to be selfish & oppose these needed reforms."
