1. The bill signed yesterday is still law

This is about the Reconciliation process. It's a separate piece of legislation.

All that will happen now is that tomorrow they'll finish voting on it and send it back the House for those two minor changes. The House will then vote on it and it's over.

5. No. I don't know what it does. But the bill is already a law.

The only way to change that is if the court rules it unconstitutional or the House repeals it. Neither are likely.

9. Republicans didn't, it was the Parliamentarian's Ruling.

No substantive changes, but apparently, he said two clauses didn't pass the Byrd rule.

Since the latest reason for why the Senate can't pass a public option was "it would force the House to vote again if we change it", expect them to come up with another excuse for why they can't vote on a public option amendment. When you want something, there's a million ways to do it. When you don't, there's a million excuses.

Although, I was watching the proceedings live and I saw Sanders and Franken talking after they adjourned until tomorrow. What are the odds that they're going to propose the PO amendment tomorrow, since the Reconciliation Bill is headed back to the House anyway? All we need is one brave Senator to propose it, then we'll at least get to see who's on whose side.
