Very Awesome Response - From Rep Moran's Aides To Tea Terrorists

Rep. Jim Moran, a fiery Virginia Democrat, got a visit from tea party activists at his office earlier this week. Aides got between the burly lawmaker and the activists. The activists, according to the congressman, asked whether he needed “bodyguards” to protect him.

“We’re not protecting him from you,” the aides said, according to Moran. “We’re protecting you from him.”

Jim, who is my Congressman, doesn't take sh-t from anyone, and I sincerely wouldn't want to be the one who genuinely enraged him. He's "Old School" Irish.

When I gave my "I believe" statement on the 30th Anniversary of Roe v Wade, and 5 mos pregnant, I didn't know that he was a member of the congregation.

He spoke with me afterwards about why I was opposed to the so-called Partial Birth Abortion Act, which he was going to be voting on soon. I had heard that he was going to vote yes.

I told him. I told him that prohibiting physicians from caring for women and girls in ways they feel is in the best interest of the woman's health is not positive in any culture, any situation. I told him that if I learned my unborn baby had no brain, I would have to fly to Kansas to end the pregnancy, on top of everything else. I could not have it done by my own gynecologist. (Thankfully, everything was fine with the pregnancy.)

He told me that he didn't know that.

When the vote came down, he gave a wonderful speech, telling people about how he had changed his mind after talking to his constituents, and that this was a private health issue. He voted no.
