to despise and want ended, as if they'd willingly give up any of the programs that dems passed for them. A bunch of crazy old hippocrates, but I will say this, they damn sure show up at the polls every single election cycle and vote, even when it's against their own self interests. How do you fight that?

They'll probably be around for an extra 15 or 20 years thanks to liberal programs, but they still staunchly oppose democratic ideas. Geriatric oxy morons, the lot of them.

They're retired and have a whole lot of time on their hands to sit around and bitch about "How all the young folks are not paying enough attention to them, and when thay do, they bitch that "amerika is not like it used to be, what with all those give away programs and ferners coming in here".

And they vote, what else have they got to do but watch FUX news and listen to people like rush limbaugh that kisses their wrinkled up, old republican asses everyday.

I think that they are a minority even within the Republican party.
Of course I have no facts to back that up, but we did elect a Black man to the Presidency and I think that this minority is gasping its last breaths.

The well intentioned and much appreciated votes that the dem party got because Obama was a true dem and, I'm sorry, it also figured in to the bi-racial vote, got the vote out. BUT, WILL THOSE SAME PEOPLE, some of which have never even voted in their life, like the youth and bi-racial voters, come out and vote again in 2010?

It's the Al Gore syndrome. Tens of thousands of people came out and voted for Al that never voted before, but they never came forward to vote in the same numbers when mid term elections took place.

We're gonna have to face it, dems get too complacent and apathetic, and that is one of our biggest obstacles to overcome so that we can have an extended leadership in this country on every level that can finally make a real difference.

I get out every election cycle and vote, and I don't stop there. I vote in every local election that aren't even that promoted. If there was an election for "Interim Dog Catcher", I'd do the research and knock door to door to make sure the liberal dem candidate got the vote out.

That's what it takes now.

14. Yes, that's a great point. I was very encouraged by the youth being involved in the election.

I saw quite a few at work on the streets, passing out buttons, stickers etc., but now they need to be just as fired up for the upcoming elections.
