Volcano erupts in Iceland

Apparently it erupted on the 20th, first time in 200 years for this particular volcano. Andrea just mentioned it before the break with a clip of amazing footage, which is what got me Googling it.

1. Cool. (And no one was injured). I've read that Iceland is actually

sort of increasing in size, because it's on two separate plates, with the mid-Atlantic ridge driving the plates away from each other and bringing up magma.

2. That's interesting - hadn't heard that. Actually, haven't heard "Iceland"

mentioned in ages. :hi:

3. I had no idea until recently that Iceland was a big banking capital of the world, and

then that collapsed and they lost their last McDonald's. Besides that, and Bjork, and volcanoes, I guess they don't cross my mind that much either. :-)
