I ask DU: Has the progressive left taken over the government and the country?
Because that's what some idiot was telling me today.

Of course, I know the answer. But I wanted to see other DU'ers thoughts on this.

1. That is all perspective.
I would say no and most of DU would say no - but find a freeper and you'll hear "yes."

8. No such thing as takeovers in this government.
The popularity of good ideas is the only thing that prospers. It just so happens that the left are the only ones putting fourth ideas at all. The right is in a struggle to regain power by any means necessary. So yes the left is in control for now but left/right is bullshit - good ideas and knowledge based on fact is whats succeeding in our nations politics. (finally)

The internet is the downfall of rightwing nuttery.

9. You're kidding, right?
The progressive left has been under the bus at least since the Democratic Convention in '08, as far as the presidency goes.

The progressive left in government is so scarce as to be irrelevant.

14. pfft. If that were true
the health care bill would have been universal, single-payer instead of the tiny amount of reform to the current for-profit health care industry that it was.

And DADT would have been repealed by now.

24. Of course they have.. that's why there are no wars... no poverty, no torture
no homeless. That's why the roads are fixed, and the air is clean and the water is blue. People are working together to create clean safe energy, schools are thriving, and there is a budget surplus.... yeah Liberals are on the move :eyes:
