Checked out the Eric Cantor story. No windows shot out.
Edited on Thu Mar-25-10 05:52 PM by arcadian
No windows shot out. The story is a complete fabrication on Eric Cantor's part. There was a Henrico County sheriffs deputy even though the location of the "campaign" office is in downtown Richmond in Bobby Scott's district. The "camapign" office is actually a political consultancy firm called Marcus & Allen. Why did the Henroco county police officers respond and not the richmond PD? Also, why does Eric Cantor have a "campaign" office in Richmond outside of his district? I also spoke with the owner of the adjacent building, they had heard reports of what had happened but said they did not hear gunshots. I asked them to look up at the building and if there were any windows shot out. They said that they could see none.

Tell me how does anybody even know Cantor is connected to this office. If he is their client, they certainly would not give out that info.

More than enough time to get a window replaced.

I see no reason why the police would lie in their report.

8. Sorry, too much tinfoil
No point turning a perfectly good story about Cantor being a liar and hysteric into a falsifiable conspiracy story.

Unless the *Richmond* police are fabricating there was a window pierced by a bullet there.

http://www.mcall.com/news/nationworld/sns-ap-us-health-care-threats-cantor,0,5342289.story

As to why a Henrico pol has a campaign office in Richmond, he doesn't. That was a flat lie on Cantor's part. It isn't a campaign office.

As to why Henrico deputies were involved, no clue.

Was Cantor targeted? Of course not. More lies. The shot was random.

But since the Richmond police say there was a bullet and it did go through a window and ended up on the lobby floor I am inclined to believe that much.

As to the absence of shattered glass... this incident happened Tuesday. Maybe they replaced the pane.

10. I heard this evening on the drive home
that the police (don't know if it was Henrico PD or Richmond PD, but Richmond is in Henrico county and if Richmond PD is swamped they may have a deal with Henrico to back them up) that determined the bullet that hit the window was on a downwards arc when it hit the window - which indicated that the bullet had been fired from a distance. In other words, the bullet was not aimed at the window deliberately and whomever shot it had no intention of hitting the window.

40. Richmond is not in Henrico County
They are completely independent entities with no shared jurisdiction.

No idea why a Henrico County Sheriff was present in the independent city of Richmond.

42. Sorry, what I meant was
that Richmond is surrounded on 3 sides by Henrico County. That's what I mean by "in". It seemed like every time I drove somewhere in Richmond, all of a sudden I was in Henrico county.

35. I've sent it to Pelosi, Rachel Maddow and just now,
I sent it to Chris Matthews. Matthews keeps stating that "Eric Cantor's campaign office was shot at". This isn't the first time I've heard Matthews tell less than the truth on his show. I think I'm going to stop watching his show.

I have to say as well as I know downtown that building is so nondescript that I do not recognize it

The reports I heard said it was at 23 West Main-that would be the block west of Foushee, right?

Amazing. Great work.

24. Flat ground 10 blocks or so from the downtown area
there is a rise in elevation coming up from downtown and then it dips back down heading towards Belvidere.

As a runner I know the area well. Grace is a much flatter run coming away from the Capital. Canal is death.

Again thanks for the pics.

I also took a walk over there at lunchtime.

WRIC's reporter on the scene on the 6 p.m. newscast pointed out it was the damage was to the center top windowpane of the bay window and it had already been repaired.

I was at work and was unaware that any of it was going on
This story is getting worse as the hours go along.

Kantor decried using these attacks for political purposes. Kantor is now officially a joke.

I actually got on WRVA with that idiot this afternoon and pointed out that his office was not shot AT-it was random (according to the police and the WRVA news that directly preceded his rant THEY SHOT AT KANTOR'S OFFICE!! he quizzed me on my balistics expertise

:eyes:

I am going to stop listening to him even for the comedic quality

37. Ha ha....
who needs balistics expertise when there's gravity involved. What goes up, must come down. Besides, the police are the ones with the balistics expertise and THEY reported that the bullet was shot into the air and landed inside the window. It was reported that it didn't have enough velocity to even penetrate the blinds on the inside of the window, so it just fell back down after being shot into the sky and just happened to fall into the window on its way down. Or else, da da daaaaa, the DNC hired a crackshot that fired the gun a mile away, in such a way that it fell exactly where he wanted it to fall, da da daaaaaaa! No one will ever know, bwaaaahaahaa!

27. It's NOT Cantor's campaign office. Bldg is occupied by a political consulting LLC, Marcus & Allen
Cantor may utilize their services from time to time, but that doesn't make it his campaign office.

I may shop for my food at Krogers. That doesn't make it my pantry.
