It was the turning point, all right, but it was the turning point that freed the Democrats from their 60-vote majority shackles and the corresponding delusional pursuit of bipartisanship that found them somehow groveling at the feet of the loathsome Joe Lieberman; licking the boots of walking-corpse Ben Nelson; and playing a wimpy game of footsie with the seemingly perpetually constipated Olympia Snowe -- all in hopes that joining forces with this grisly group would result in legislative salvation
