FACEBOOK INSANITY - Prez. Obama proposes 1.4 pay increase for military but WELFARE increase is
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 11:11 PM by Maru Kitteh
higher?

President Obama has proposed a 1.4% pay increase for active duty military in 2011. This is THE LOWEST SINCE 1973! Nice to know that during a time of rampant inflation, while war is fought in 2 theatres, our men and women in uniform get A LOWER PAY INCREASE THAN WELFARE RECIPIENTS. Please repost if you support our troops

This woman just sent her ONLY CHILD - her son - my daughter's husband - off to the Army - ON TUESDAY.

9. yeah.. but then they will just say snopes is left wing conspiracy
That's where I've been lately with debunking right-wing e-mail crap. The rightwinger just says... the e-mail is 100% correct and your source is not neutral. I give up at that point. If they can't even look into a debunking by a site that sources and footnotes their facts.. as opposed to an anonymous, forwarded e-mail... I give up. They're brainwashed and there is no reasoning with them.

"So, it's true that Obama has proposed a 1.4 percent pay increase for the military in 2011. By law, it's what he was required to propose."

BY LAW - he did what he had to under the law. Congress will increase it.

I don't even get into welfare crap with people - one day I'm going to completely off on someone over that.

12. This is the current model of wingnut attack...
Find something that everyone has done...Pretend that it is an affront...feign indignation...spew...ignore evidence to the contrary.

Obama recommended what the pentagon wanted based on a formula indexed to national wages, which sucked last year. Congress can give them a raise, but the Pentagon says it will have to cut healthcare and family support to do it. So there...

But wait, TANF, which is welfare (Aid to needy families) has had no increase since something like 1996.
