Actually what
he says is that "... it {questioning the Papa's role in the coverup of priestly child abuse} marked the start of a war "between the church and the world; between Satan and God".
Apparently the problem is not the predatory, pedophile priests, and their shielding by The Church, but the fact that the world - "Satan" - is upset by both. It is not the abuse, it is the scandal; It is not the church's coverup, it is our discover that is the problem.
We should just leave it to God (ie The Holy Roman Catholic Church) to deal with. Just as in the Dark Ages, the Church should rule the world.
This is what is WRONG with religion: It is always on the side of The Lord, and the rest of us are deluded by Satan - even when the religion hides the destruction of children by its clergy.
Religion is a mental disease which leaves The Faithful with the delusion that the rest of the world is always wrong when it contradicts the teaching and leadership of any given religion.
Pedophiles are not "Evil," they are seriously mentally disturbed individuals who need to be kept away from children - that they do no further harm; away from the rest of society - so they do not come to harm themselves.
I perceive this as war between duty to the Church, and duty to God; and that the Catholic clergy has failed both miserably and systematically. If truly, as they claim, the choice is between Satan and Church, I then must stand with Lucifer - the Bearer of Light - on this issue of abusing children. No matter what the old white men in skirts have to say.
I think that Christ too would have been on the side of the children, not of the priests - which, in the view of at least one bishop, thus puts Christ on the side of Satan.
Pedophiles need to be locked up, not sent on in hidden silence to prey on more children as they come to pray.
