Those Damn Dirty Hippie Teabaggers--Love It or Leave It, You Hippies!
I'm 65. I look at these teabaggers as the uneducated, racist, dipshits version of the "hippies" of my generation (I could show these wannabes a few things)! Anyway, because we were so..gasp..radical back then, it totally turned off the whole "church lady" nation and we caused the Dem party to be looked on as "the anti-American, evil ones" for like 4 decades!!! These clowns and the violence they are stirring up are going to end up doing the same thing to the Repuke Party. The Teabaggers (show me your high school diploma..please), are a combination of the KKK, "militia" (losers who run around playing soldier in the woods), and the Nazi skin heads. The Repukes catered to and spawned these Sons and Daughters of Satan and now they are run by them. Bye, Bye Republican party. "Wink, Wink" has turned into a 2 by 4 in your eye!!! And by the way, if you don't love AMUREKA then leave it, you dirty hippies!

2. I'm saying...
we hippies stirred up the same kind of reaction that these clowns are starting to stir up; ie., it makes Americans nervous and they don't like it. They are not "building" a movement. They are creating the atmosphere that will end up turning the average American against them.

5. +1
Hippies were about leaving the system, and finding better ways. At least they tried to do things that were better. Although many got side tracked, and they are shown on TV to be about other things.

The ideals of the Hippies are far from those that call themselves Teabaggers. Peace and love were hippie ideals.

However corporate sponsorships are trying to use those models, with different goals to create hype to help them.

And there may be teabaggers that have some good views, but they are not seen in the signs I see. Although that could be filters, they seem to be really focused on money. And by doing that they end up helping money, pretty ironic.

6. Teabaggers are the ones who couldn't get laid during the "Summer Of Love"..
And, they were scared to eat the acid. Too bad, they may have seen the light, like I did. :hippie:

9. I think that 65 year olds claim on Hippies is interesting.
I'm a decade away from 65 yet people, especially younger people, make claims of me being an old Hippie because my beard went white at age 45--actually, I volunteered for 4 yrs of service to get a non-combat MOS, and I'm about as far away from Hippie culture as a baby-boomer could be. 7th RRFS KTF! (Kill The Fuckers?? Hardly) I am not ashamed of having worn a Teal Blue ascot with silver speckles, it was better than wearing an M16, M72 or an M201.

13. Yeah, but there were lots of 1st wave hippies who were veterans..
Me included. I was already out of the service by 1966, eating acid while it was still legal. :hippie:

generation... ". No way - you are not speaking for me. The Hippies weren't perfect in their looks and actions. But they came from a heart place. The revolt was all about knowing that what they were witnessing was gross hypocrisy and a lying war.

I salute the Hippies! I would never salute a teabagger.

The Hippies thought for themselves. The teabaggers are incapable.

I have to resent the comparison and say NO NO NO!!!

imo, most, not all, of the Hippies should get a statue at the least, for opening up minds.

I say it again - NO WAY do they compare. Good intentions vs vile bigotry based nastiness. It's probably a good thing the Teabaggers came out of the woodwork - we get to know them for what they are - fear and hate obsessed nasty hearted non-thinking messes. Terribly selfish.

(I exclude all the phoney Hippies - in it for free and shared stuff - all pretense.)

liberals. Make love, not war. Tea baggers are just a more radical version of the same old republican ideals of "hate everyone who isn't just like me or who doesn't think just like me".

If I was going to compare them to anyone, I would compare them to white supremacists.

16. Please do not insult the hippies. Boy, did you absorb a lot of guilt
over nothing.

The hippies did not create the problems for our party .

The fact is no one stood up for Liberalism. Laying
down and rolling over for Conservatives was much easier
than taking a stand.

Please never compare hippies to potential Klan and
Sons of the Confederacy.

Say what you will, at least the Teabaggers believe
and stand up. I may not like what they stand for
but they have the right to do it.

When will the Left take a stand????

and getting stoned and communes, and respect and long hair and cool bellbottoms and flowers and psychedelic art and great music and peace and grooving.
