payment by credit or debit card only
Payment: Effective August 1, 2009, the Van Nuys FlyAway will only accept credit or debit cards for payment. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express accepted.

Flyaway is the bus service to the Los Angeles airport. A govermental agency. Wonder what the 'unbanked' do when they want a ride to the airport. Is this the wave of the future?

1. I suspect the 'unbanked' will get there some other way...
I doubt they will leave their cars in the long-term parking, anyway...

Or do they even fly that much? People without funds wouldn't, I suspect.

4. Flyaway allows travelers to avoid long term parking, catch a bus or ride to the suburban flyaway
but you can park there also

2. Take the tinfoil off...
It's to protect the drivers from potential theft and the company from sticky fingered drivers.

14. Yes, but
there are more and more places that aren't taking pre-paid debit cards any more. For example, gas stations and Amazon.com.

"That's one nice thing about the 707. It can do everything BUT read."

There's a bunch of great lines in it.

7. They don't want their drivers to get robbed, apparently
Edited on Sun Mar-28-10 12:07 AM by SoCalDem
I see vehicles around here all the time, with "Driver accepts no cash,,carries no cash" signs..in english and spanish.

Many places won't even accept cash over a $20 bill..
