I'm old enough to remember that episode of Twilight Zone, wherein a group of monks had the Devil imprisoned, and a weak-willed visitor to the monastery actually listened to the web of lies (read: propaganda) espoused by The Dark Lord, and unleashed him upon the world!

My fellow DUers, are we really gonna let Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Youbetcha propagate their pernicious lies without challenge???

Be not deterred. Move impeccably and valiantly forward with the sure footing of validated convictions in the context of an open mind that strives for understanding and tolerance.

Rather than a house that is divided and ready to fall, we can foment a potential for a unity that cannot and will not be easily vanquished as we move with our people towards a new Enlightenment where decency, fairness and compassion are the true capital and values that propel us into a more peaceful and harmonious future for all with a more equitable distribution of power and wealth for the common good.

6. Where were these conservatives during the previous eight years?

Did they even take note of the Patriot act? Torture? A war based on lies? The largest expansion of government in history? Did they notice that Bush outspent every previous President-including Ronnie Reagan, who had outspent the previous 200 years worth of U.S. Presidents! Runaway spending, warrant-less wire tapping, corporate giveaways using tax payer dollars...you guys were fine with it! Now our side is fine with continuing many of those disastrous policies...because our guy is doing it. Not a lot of thoughtfulness on either side, honestly. Stop thinking about your team, the slogans, the marketing, the advertising, and START thinking about the actual policies and issues!
