Conversation with a 24-year-old co-worker who after complaining that his paycheck didn't cover his expenses was railing against the mythical lazy people who are sucking up his tax dollars.

I asked why since welfare is such a good deal is he struggling paycheck to paycheck when he could be livin' large off the government and spend the day banging his wife instead of fixing computers?

"Because I'm white." he replied with a totally straight face. Also completely ignoring the fact we both work for a defense contractor and every cent of our paychecks is dependent on DoD--that would be taxpayer--money.

when I get a weekly burger or taco, most of the staff is non-white at every restaurant.
So by his logic, those people must be making $15-20 an hour because if they worked for minimum wage, it'd only be whites because non-whites would've went on welfare instead of working such a low paying job.

8. So, does he think that white people don't ever go on welfare, or is he one of those

who thinks that welfare is only given to non-whites. I can't tell you how many people I've met who swear that it's easier for minorities to get assitance than it is for white Americans. They can usually give you personal anecdotes of benefits denied to "prove" their point. They still believe in Reagan's "welfare Cadillac queen" and you'll never convince them otherwise because that fits into their bigoted mindset.

12. Category two: non-whites and non-citizens find it easier to get public assistance.

And non-white, non citizens flood into the country with the express purpose of availing themselves of the generous government cash givaways, free medical care, homes, cars, universities, and of course abortions. These are benefits which simply are not available to us hard-working white folk and paying for it is bankrupting the country.

After he got done telling me what a great gig collecting welfare is, I was genuinely curious why he got up every morning to come to a job that I know is not his first career choice (he's a temp like me so he has no health care, paid vacation, etc) when the welfare would provide everything he's not getting holding down a regular job.
