Despite all of the success that Obama has realized, the "liberal media" frames it so that it translates into a loss. Oh, and Kelly O'Donnell and Howard Fineman are eager to agree that the "angry" conservatives are "more energized."

Furthermore: with the victory that we are celebrating as well as more mortgage help and job focus, there should be no losses. They are setting the stage for theft.

and actually doing remarkably well considering everything but he is not going to see any significant gain in approval until folks start feeling more confidence in the economy. Health care reform, immigration, new banking regulations and troops returning from Iraq are really just sideshows compared to what has happened to jobs and the economy. I am not saying these issues are not critical and do not effect the economy because they are and they do but Obama is not going to break away from the upper forties/low fifties approval levels with the economy being as it is right now. Once the economy starts making significant improvements that the average Joe on the street can feel then the tea-bagger movement will start losing steam.

...you just have a problem with predictions that your team isn't doing so well.

If a football team is favored by 14 points and then loses it's star quarterback, it's perfectly reasonable for the news to ask whether the change will move the "line" on the game and by how much.

We may not like it, but pre-HCR we were headed toward a big loss in November. Big enough that it wasn't unreasonable to ask whether a change in control in one or both houses was possible (a year ago it would have been unthinkable... in fact we were expected to pick up a seat or two in the Senate).

Right now (and things could change), "there should be no loses" is a pipe dream.
