Poll finds 50% of Californians now support Marriage Equality

A resounding sign of the changing attitudes concerning equal rights for gays in California, Shelby Grad of the Los Angeles Times reports that according to a recent poll, 50% of Californians now favor gay marriage, with 45% in opposition. According to the Public Policy Institute of California poll, this is the first time ever that support for gay marriage in California has reached 50%.

An exciting affirmation coming just two years after Californians voted for Proposition 8, the measure which amended the California State Constitution to ban same-sex marriage, this study is a strong indication of shifting opinions across our State. The new findings also coincide with the final hearings of the Prop 8 Federal trial, with closing arguments soon to be scheduled.

it is good news but I am not sure it shows any growth in support.
