The latest Washington Post/ABC News poll shows 76% of registered Democrats are enthusiastic to vote this November while 75% of registered Republicans are enthusiastic.

2. We are going to have to make sure that enthusiasm endures through November

I went to an OFA strategy meeting the other week and they set out a rough calendar that focused both on issues advocacy and electoral work.

For myself, I want to focus as much energy as I can in helping to round up all those first-time voters and others who came out in 2008 and convincing them how essential it is to the president's agenda that they vote in the midterms. It needs to be a super-sustained GOTV initiative, imo. Not just contacting people in the days leading up to the election (we saw how that worked in Massachusetts) but contacting them early to plant the idea of voting in November in their heads and stressing the urgency of it.

So whether you volunteer for OFA work or sign up with a specific key candidate you are trying to send to Washington (or both!), remember we have to start early and work hard. Go sign up somewhere and get your marching orders.

3. I am working hard on two votes right now...

they are Independents but are grateful to the Democrats for help and Health Care when they were unemployed. They never vote at mid terms but I am making an event of it. Dinner at my house after the vote. My goal is to bring four non-voters to vote for Dems.

Our 75% is a larger number than their 75%.
