March Madness battles rage! My family and I join millions of Americans enjoying college basketball’s finest through March Madness. Underdogs always get my vote as we watch intense competition bring out the best in these accomplished teams.

The Final Four is an intense, contested series (kind of like a heated, competitive primary election), so best of luck to all teams, and watch for this principle lived out: the team that wins is the team that wants it more.

To the teams that desire making it this far next year: Gear up! In the battle, set your sights on next season’s targets! From the shot across the bow – the first second’s tip-off – your leaders will be in the enemy’s crosshairs, so you must execute strong defensive tactics. You won’t win only playing defense, so get on offense! The crossfire is intense, so penetrate through enemy territory by bombing through the press, and use your strong weapons – your Big Guns – to drive to the hole. Shoot with accuracy; aim high and remember it takes blood, sweat and tears to win.

Focus on the goal and fight for it. If the gate is closed, go over the fence. If the fence is too high, pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, parachute in. If the other side tries to push back, your attitude should be “go for it.” Get in their faces and argue with them. (Sound familiar?!) Every possession is a battle; you’ll only win the war if you’ve picked your battles wisely. No matter how tough it gets, never retreat, instead RELOAD!

a dumbass. He literally made us laugh with this faux-tough guy shit. It sounds like she's making a pitch to be a middle school b-team coach. I think she's talking like this about basketball to cover up her bullshit faux-tough girl act regarding the reload and target rhetoric about democrats.

And I doubt she wrote it herself. Some staffer whose never strapped on basketball shoes or been in an actual war, most likely. If they had done either then they wouldn't use this stupid war euphemism and if they done both they would realize how ridiculous this sounds to real soldiers (who also happen to be basketball players).

It has to do with her having been on the ALASKA girls state champs.

I recall her saying it was like being pressed by the other team and you have to start 'dribbling through the press, with your eyes on the basket' -which is such a lot of shit if you know ANYTHING about basketball.

Maybe in Alaska Girls High School she could pull that shit and still believe it,
but anywhere else she will get her clock cleaned trying that.

You beat a press, and a zone both, with PASSING.
In Indiana a coach will yank your ass out of a game if you try to dribble through a fucking press.

19. Hey I grew up playing basketball in Indiana. I know what its like to be yanked.

Our coach watched too much Hoosiers (the movie) and emulated Bob Knight to a fault. He had the meanness down, just didn't have the tactical skills of Knight. Thus he knew a thing or two about squandering talent (unlike Knight).

You can't make it through a press on the dribble. Our pg must have went to the Palin school of teamwork, he's a libertarian now, and didn't pass the ball much back then, as I recall. Kind of makes sense in a weird sort of way.

"You won't get far on the court with your conservative individualism, in fact I have a seat at the end of the bench for you. Now run 5 stadium laps and think about what you just did...dribbling through the press. Who the fuck does that?" My aau coach would have said something similar.
