Any semi-automatic rifle manufactured or imported into this country is manufactured without the parts (Sear, Fire control group, etc) needed for fully automatic fire. AR-15s, the civilian model of the "select fire" M-16, are manufactured with a receiver (The part that holds the bolt, trigger and barrel together) that is a different size than the M-16 receiver and has no holes for full-auto parts.

Yeah, you could maybe make a full-auto if you machined a new receiver and machined the full-auto parts, but that's not "easily convertible" that's manufacturing a new machine gun.

Trust the ATF, those scary black rifles are semi-autos.

...between these guys and the beginnings of the Sturmabteilung (SA), the right-wing para-military group that facilitated the NSDAP's rise to power in Germany in the 1930s. Not saying history must or even will repeat itself, but it's interesting to me that two different groups nearly a century apart are at least initially developing along very very similar lines.

I know it's too much to ask, but these guys might want to read up on what became of the SA once the Nazis obtained power -- it wasn't pretty.

The joke is that they think of themselves and dress up like their some kind of super-warriors, like modern day Spartans when a lot of them could obviously not make it to the driveway without getting winded. How did some nut get a grenade launcher? I don't know the military nomenclature these days, but in my day, they called it an M-203, (and I still remember the old M-79 way back!).

Given the per capita ownership rate in Tennessee, you could probably assemble more than that from a good sized yoga class or the crowd at the local Starbucks. :-)

To me, it looks like only one of those guys is probably a serious AR shooter (the one with the flattop upper, Aimpoint, and BUIS, which is actually a well thought out setup). The old school 20" with the relic Colt 4x on the carry handle and fake grenade launcher is just for show, and the A2-upper carbine on the homemade single-point doesn't look like it has been used much (wish the resolution were better to check the finish of the case deflector and ejection port cover). I also see one straight-stocked SKS (Tom Clancy Lookalike Guy), a hunting shotgun of some variety (Aggressive Sign Guy), and what looks to be a high-end AK variant (maybe a Krebs, but I can't see enough of it to tell).
