word of warning to those that see no difference between the Dems and the GOP- COME LIVE AND WORK IN NJ! Repuke Chris Christie has forced the lay off of thousands of teachers (he loves to attacking their union) by cutting off nearly all state money for education.


State union workers and teacher unions workers and all municipal and county workers are being forced to take a pay cut to refill the pension fund the GOP raided.


If you are not well off forget college as repuke Chris Christie has raised tuition out of reach to all but the wealthy

Be thankful of the Dems HCR, you need it here as Chris Christie is gutting the environment laws and mass transit

8. The problem was that Corzine was a terrible ineffective governor.

It's not enough to have Democrats in office, you need effective ones. Corzin's biggest 'accomplishment' was getting in a car accident.

The fixes for NJ biggest problems (property taxes) are not rocket science, municipalities need to be forced to consolidate services so that the redundancy and overlap from town to town is eliminated. But Corzine and every other politician in the state was unwilling to trample on each others little fifedoms.

The fact is there are too many municipalities in this state (566 to be exact -- the most in any state in the union), and each one taxing its residents to provide schools and fire and police services.

Combine services between municipalities and taxes can and will go down as more people pay for the same service, instead of every isolated town paying for their own.

13. I left NJ to seek a graduate degree elsewhere...

thanks to Christie Whitman, I left college in a load of debt (even with scholarships). I couldn't afford to have the government fully subsidize potentially 12 more years of school.

I giggle a little, though, every time my conservative in-laws and family members whine about this...they're all about education and now it's bitten them in the arse. NJ is screwed for awhile, which truly sucks.
