FREDERICK, Md. - The attorney for a Maryland man says his client will plead guilty to tossing a Chihuahua off a bridge.

Attorney Eugene Souder says 35-year-old David Beers, whose trial was set to begin Monday in Frederick, will plead guilty to aggravated animal cruelty, a felony, and theft under $500.

Beers allegedly told investigators he got angry when the dog's owners ordered him off their property after he had pulled into their driveway to make a cell phone call in June.

Police say Beers left, but returned when the owners were gone and grabbed the dog when she walked up to his car.

Police say Beers admitted he threw the 4-pound dog over a creek bridge as he drove home. The dog was never found.

To go on private property and then kill the people's dog, I can't comprehand someone who would think like that. I'd bet he's on of those that moans and screams every time he doesn't get exactly what he wants. Being willing to kill someone's dog like that though is really sick, he should be off the street. He is a danger to society, he could go off and hurt a human being with little remorse as well.

not so much for the poor dog, who very possibly died a slow and agonizing death following a terrifying ordeal. Certainly not for the dogs owners.

A few weeks ago, my next door neighbor got mad when my dog touched her yard. Understand, I've had 2 of their cows and a bull in my back yard, and didn't make a big deal of it. Then last year their dog came over several times and threatened me. I still didn't make a big deal of it. My little dog ran him off.

So this time apparently my other dog -- who just wagged his tail while theirs started to lunge for me -- followed theirs home. Neighbor's response? Drove into my driveway, lured my dogs in front of her car and tried to mow them down in front of me.
