A Few Facts. What Do They Mean? .....
We have 132,000 troops in Iraq 'exposed' to the missile range of weapons from Iran.

We have a major concentration of war personnel in the 'Green Zone.' (Easy to Find, Hard to leave).

We have spent millions of dollars to 'move' battle groups, aircraft carriers, and personnel into position near Iran. (And we will spend millions more to keep them there whether we do anything or not).

Attacks inside Iran have been going on for months.

The Iraqi government we set up is controlled by Shiites, and the goal of Shiites is to destroy Sunnis.

We refuse to talk to Iran, Syria, and other regional powers to craft a regional authority to deal with Iraq.

We have taken down a Iranian consulate in Iraq, arrested Iranian officials, and lowered the Iranian flag.

Bush has ordered troops to shoot and kill Iranians in Iraq.

Israel and the rest of the world keeps reporting that a US attack on Iran is imminent.

Any military attack on Iran will result in an interruption of the flow of oil.

Western Oil Companies are pushing through a law in the Iraqi Parliment that will give them 75% of all profits from sale of Iraqi oil for the next 30 years.

If Iran is attacked, Israel will be attacked, leading to Israeli retaliation.

The UN and the rest of the world refuses to send in forces/peacekeepers to help stabilize Iraq.

Tony Blair will step down in 2 months, and the British Parliment supports pulling troops out of Iraq right away.

Bush announces he is sending 21,500 more troops to Iraq and is told we have only 9,000 troops left to send.

Bush pulls troops from Afghanistan for Iraq in the face of a major Taliban resurgence.

N.Korea continues to develop its nuclear weapons program and realizes that the US is tied down in Iraq.

So what does a rational informed person make of all this?

3. Bush is another David Koresh. The only way for him to fulfil his self-image
is to start a conflagration in the middle east and call it armageddon. It could also give him the rationale to declare martial law.

5. i'm no apologist for bush

but seriously, with regards to the "shoot to kill iranians in iraq" you are not quite portraying the intent of the policy.

If indeed there are Iranian "agents" delivering weapons to insurgents or providing technical assistance, intelligence, etc, to help insurgents kill our soldiers, I would expect those people to sleep in the bed they made. I see no problem with this policy. You may not like the Iraq war and occupation (I don't) but that hardly means you should allow or advocate that our guys get slaughtered with no recourse. You wouldn't feel that way if your brother, sister, son or daughter were over there.

If they are cooking things and perfectly decent, well intentioned iranian citizens are being targeted, then obviously I have a problem with that too.

But you can't believe for a minute that there aren't Iranian agents in Iraq, can you? Please read any of the Robert Baer non fiction books. Iran since the revolution is a principal source of funding and guidance of terrorism throughout the middle east. frankly no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

6. The problem I have with Bush's order is....
Iranians who are keeping the US from accomplishing its goals or infringing on our interests.

It appears that Bush is trying to provoke an Iranian response.

My concern is always with the troops, who are caught in an impossible situation.
