Although it was fun to watch the guy on the CMS webcast do the Rubik's cube while they were waiting. I like the way they have 5 different webcasts you can choose from.

12. It's not like this is going to be visually exciting
It's super cool and all but if everything works those 5 people may jump up and down. If it doesn't they'll slump sadly.

Either way I'll read about it tomorrow.

Now if they would do it like this...

10. Cool!
So, how fast would the black hole grow and how much time do we have before it reaches us? I mean, just in case ;)

On the other hand, if I wake-up tomorrow as a psychedelic potetntate with blue, penguin feet, waving my thirty-two arms around while playing Venusian Gin with the armor plated ghost of Einstein while the Grateful dead knit talking Buddha sculptures out of fiber optic spiders, I'll know why.

I better change my muons before I hit the sack. I am looking forward to the new colors that will be added to the visual spectrum. We all know that there are not enough primary colors.

A good Video on 'How Does The Large Hadron Collider Work?'

An interesting look at the different stages of the large hadron collider(LHC) which was recently "switched on" at CERN's particle physics lab.
It shows how they pump it up. Nice animation that explains how speed at some point reaches a maximum and from there on only changes in mass

11.47AM -- Wake up! They're back, the beams are now in position and are about to begin acceleration within minutes. Former project leader Lyn Evans was brought out for a quick interview and given just enough time to express that he's "very confident" things will go right this time.
