3 Marines killed in Helmand provinceStaff report

Three Marines died March 24 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Defense Department recently announced.
Lance Cpl. Jacob A. Ross, 19, an assault man with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, was killed in a hostile incident, although the Defense Department has not yet released details of his death. Ross, of Gillette, Wyo., joined the Marines in July 2008 and deployed to Afghanistan in October 2009.
The two other Marines killed March 24 were reservists with 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. They were Lance Cpl. Rick J. Centannni, 19, of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Sgt. Maj. Robert J. Cottle, 45, of Whittier, Calif. The two were killed in the same incident, when a roadside bomb struck their convoy.
