Soda cases are now 20 cans, but same price

24 cans in a case is going away. 20 cans, but prices remain the same. Why do consumers fall for this crap?

With prices varying widely depending on which shop you go to and what's on sale.

The cans, however, are made out of aluminum. Not tinfoil.

Rather than raise prices, the size shrinks. As for why consumers put up with it...well, if you want a particular brand of soda in a 12 oz container and 12 oz containers of that brand are available in individually, in six packs, in 12 packs, and in 24 packs and the 24 packs are phased out in favor of 20 packs, but buying the 20 pack is still a better deal than buying 2 12 packs, what would you propose the customer do? If they aren't brand-loyal, they could switch to another soda that still offers 24 packs, but most consumers of soda are somewhat brand loyal and if a manufacturer sees its rival not losing market share when it goes to a 20 pack, they're going to do the same thing.

FWIW, when they're on sale, which is pretty frequently around here, 12 packs are still a better bargain than 24 packs.

you need a case of pepsi, you see a case of pepsi RIGHT ON THE END OF THE AISLE, you buy it. you don't stop to analyze the packaging information, or go to the soda aisle and comparison shop, because you know what you expect. 24 cans. you get home and don't bother to count the contents. it runs out sooner than you thought. huh, you say.

you go back and buy more.

anyway, often i find that i can buy 2 6 packs of beer for LESS than the price of a 1/2 case.

I've recently started making Jamaica - it's quite yummy, old fashioned lemon or limeade is good too. Treat yourself to a few gourmet-type sodas a week and enjoy, then drink water for thirst, tea for caffeine.

You can either buy flavored syrup or buy the flavoring by itself and mix it with simple syrup(or artificial sweeteners) and club soda. Not only does it taste better because you make it with sucrose, but you can control the sugar content.

Other than crappy store brands, I can't by a full cup of yogurt anymore. Even apart from the fact that 6 oz. sure as hell isn't 75% the price as 8 had been, a cup is a good size serving, 6 oz. isn't enough, and 12 would be too much.

Not much flavor choice in the jumbo economy size, plus that much would probably go bad on me before I could finish it all.
