I'm switching gears, and it's probably for the best
Edited on Tue Mar-30-10 05:34 PM by That Is Quite Enough
I used to love nothing more than a good afternoon spent trolling conspiracy theory, new age and Republican 'fringe' websites. Sometimes, when the mood struck me, I'd do some real life trolling (not of the sexual kind, mind you) and regale and agitate some of my more unhinged acquaintances. Life in the 605 surrounded by Republican nutjobs has its perks.

But recently that's all changed. I just don't find enjoyment in it anymore. Maybe it's because the crazy conservatives have become a little -too- crazy or maybe I'm feeling a little guilty egging some of the woo-woos on with stories of reptilian aliens building armies underneath Salt Lake City, or being visited by Tibetan monks in spectral spaceships, or Obama being a time traveling demon, and reading their crazed, sincere reactions.

Being a troll on conspiracy or occult related fringe websites is actually pretty fun. I love the creativity involved in the raconteuring. But I guess I need to move on, so...

I've got a new goal in mind: debunking all these lies (whether harmless woo or dangerous Birther BS)
wherever I find them.

Will I be hailed as a 'disinformation agent' working for THEM (the NWO/Obama/the Cryptocommunists/Satan/The Reptilians) to suppress the truth? Probably. But I guess it'll be worth it to see if I can reach even just one rational person.

2. Yeah, disregarding all the people woo-woo medicine has killed

Like the people who don't go to chemo or take their antivirals, and instead think that watching the sun at dawn or using the 'law of attraction' will cure them of whatever their ailment is.

Or the people who kill themselves so they can rejoin their spiritual family on a passing comet. You know the type.

4. You can kind-of do both, debunking and trolling, at the same time.
Just make an art of asking the right questions. Socrates was an epic troll!

it from their cold, dead fingers.
