1. Not to be the grump, but April 1 is usually the one day I log off

It gets really old, really fast and ceases to be a useful site for news. Other's mileage may vary, of course.

26. Was not thinking of bananas just dancing.

But there is a banana symbol, and it is used in many places.

There are some bad metaphors that could be from that, but its like a two step metaphor.

There are some problems created, and not my intention, where some people think that banana or monkey is a comment with racial thoughts in it.

Honestly the meaning of the banana and monkey is not racial in most dictionaries, it is less evolved and has nothing to do with race. I do not use that thought, since it requires concepts of self superiority so missed that metaphor in the use of dancing icons.

But there is a group that says a certain group is less evolved, and bananas are how they should be treated, it also fits with things like the banana cream pie in the face. Ideas that the unwashed masses are not as smart.

Honestly most usage is not racial, but less evolved not by race but for some groups they think that their smartness or betterness is an evolutionary step. I do not believe that, and think compassion and emotional strength is just as important, so do not claim to know what makes one person better then another, nor claim that one is more evolved.

It also finds itself in temporal lore, people that believe in time travel type stuff will often use that concept to compare the future people, to people today.

Also some think with Anne Rand thinking, and actually the eugenics people and things like that used the same thoughts to claim superiority. It is an idea where one group can decide who is better or more evolved, and then with self superiority they are able to remove empathy and conscious, bad stuff.

The Time Machine spoke of two separate evolving groups, one loving and kind, and they were preyed upon by another evolutionary strain, that was mean and predators. Although that is also a spiritual metaphor, it shows an example of the wrong thoughts on that topic.

I did not notice the banana it is not part of my thought process, just liked the dancing icons :)
