DRILL BABY DRILL! It sounds so much better when we say it.
Little did I know that the magic "D" could suddenly transform policy that was previously fucking ridiculous when championed by the evil "R" into joygasms of awesome when championed by the heroic "D."

Amazing!

21. Not, but it could harness a ton of that new corporate cash if he keeps it up
seriously, there is a pattern, he is showing himself to be a friend of corporate interests while throwing a bone here or there to the other side of the dial.

35. But it WILL buy him lots of $MONEY$ from the giant Oil Corporations.
...same as the HCR bought him lots of $MONEY$ from the Health Insurance and Pharm Industries.

At some point, one must ask the question, "Who are these people really working for?

It's not chess or checkers. It's a waste of time because climate change will not wait on bi-partisanship.

8. Forget bipartisanship.
Edited on Wed Mar-31-10 11:08 PM by TheLiberalNovelist
John McCain has clearly stated they will not work with the Democrats, so I say frak 'em. And their teabagger friends too. The Republicans are killing themselves. Just wait until 2012...they'll get what's coming to them...again.

It's pretty clear the President is losing his patience with the GOP.

It could and SHOULD be the last one, but there's no telling.

18. They've moved on to claiming that this is a smart move by
Obama, to call Republicans' bluff. He's just kidding, they are saying, he's trying to get them to oppose it by proposing it. I'm not sure where we are going from here if this is the case, but I'm not going to worry about it as we are not smart enough to understand. Just have faith. It will all work the way we were promised.

It's chess. Which dimension, I've lost count of.

25. another massive betrayal
"It's hard to name the most distressing part of Obama's decision to open up off-shore drilling for gas and oil along the Atlantic coast.

Is it his willingness to bargain away the environment to placate oil companies opposed to the climate change bill?

Is it his betrayal of an oft-stated campaign stance?

Or is it his diminishing the real issue, backed by real science, by equating corporate interests with environmentalists, conjuring up two petty politicos fighting "the same old battles"? "
