WATSONVILLE -- County drug agents serving a search warrant Tuesday evening stumbled onto not one but two drug dealers allegedly selling cocaine and methamphetamine from the same sprawling property near the heart of Watsonville.
"One person on the property's moving cocaine; another person's moving crystal," said Cmdr. Rich Westphal, head of the county's Anti-Crime Team. "It wasn't the cartel but hopefully it will disrupt and some people will have a harder time buying drugs."
In one of several homes on the property, officers seized about 18 grams of cocaine and a loaded rifle that allegedly belonged to Noel Rocha Jr. The 18-year-old was the original target of their investigation, according to Westphal.
But while searching the four-acre Ford Street parcel, Armando Quintero Beltran, 55, pulled up and officers went through his vehicle as well. In the center console, they found a yellow plastic Easter egg packed with almost an ounce of methamphetamine, Westphal said.
