Kids at Easter egg hunt find body

DES MOINES, Iowa, April 3 (UPI) -- Participants in an Easter egg hunt at a park in Des Moines, Iowa, found a body Saturday morning, police said.

Des Moines police said there was no indication of foul play and an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death for the man whose body was found in Beaverdale Park, KCCI-TV, Des Moines, reported.

About 100 children were taking part in the park's annual Easter egg hunt when two teens discovered the body.

Police said they would announce the man's name after his family had been notified of his death, the TV station reported.

12. kids learn earlier and earlier about death... this might have been

natural--or not. I recall, when I was quite young and still walking to school, an incident like this. A number of kids ahead of me came across a man who had hanged himself in the open at an apartment complex... Hearing that from other kids, I did a beeline to avoid it, while others, I'm sure were more intrigued to go check it out.

I feel badly for these very young toddlers, but this kind of thing does happen, and kids are forced to face the truth of death sooner or later
