Meet The Press 4-4-10
Edited on Sun Apr-04-10 09:57 AM by howaboutme
Any opinions on this show?

What has happened to that show since Tim Russert? I can hardly stand to watch it anymore because of the typical spin of David Gregory. I consider the show as racist, typically biased and many times not in my interests. Today he had Chertoff, Lieberman and Jane Harmon telling Americans just how important it is for the USA to take strong steps against Iran. The fact is taking out Iran is NOT in our USA interests just as attacking Iraq was not in our interest. His other guests Rick Stengel and David Remnick tell us how the world should be through their glasses. The show always provides a biased view filtered through one shade of glasses. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032608/

2. But he was fair.
Rigorous journalist who did his homework and held politico's feet to the fire. As it should be. Gregory is not fit to sit in that chair.

Tim covered and coveted everything Bush and Cheney..he was a liar and he was a liar by ommission!

Much much worse than Gregory! Gregory looks like a novice in comparrison!..A real novice!

4. Be Like Me And Just Don't Watch It Anymore......
if enough of us don't turn it on - the ratings will suffer - and they'll have to make a decision. Gregory is an ass. Most everybody I've talked to about MTP just don't turn it on since Gregory took over and they saw how he was handling it. In fact just this a.m. my friend had on NBC and MTP came on - and switched the channel as Gregory's face appeared. She said - I can't stand to even look at that guy.

9. Good point
I still wanted to complain about their guests and format.

They need to go more interactive where comments and questions can be posted from the public in advance. The MTP policy is not interactive at all where uncensored comments are accepted and posted from the public. Instead it is always Gregory and their guests who tell us where the bear craps and what we should be thinking. In other words the public is being indoctrinated and not informed. There is a not so subtle difference.

7. David Gregory is an inept idiot...
Gregory isn't very bright. He never asks the right questions. He has no interrogation skills. All his questions are prepared ahead of time and he can't ad lib a question to try to get to the truth. And he lets people off the hook when they don't answer a question. Jon Stewart's Daily Show does a million times better that all the Sunday morning political shows and Jon Stewart has a better research staff than CBS, NBC and ABC combined. He plays clips showing people are liars, while inept shows hosted by stupid people like Gregory just give people a forum to lie without any fear they will be questioned. David Gregory is completely inept. My house cat is a better 'journalist' than David Gregory.

Even when he worked for the White House Press Corp he never asked any questions which could have stopped the war against Iraq. Gregory is 1/100000000000000th of Tim Russert.

12. The most telling thing was this:
Edited on Mon Apr-05-10 10:27 AM by dave123williams
It was their Easter show. So, and I'm noticing this as a Jew, every person on the panel was two things: Conservative and Jewish. Yes, I'm including Harman.

Which is funny. I understand that a lot of their normal lineup wasn't available, it being Sunday morning and Easter.

However, what I don't understand is why when no Christians are available, the impetus is to rattle the sabre for war with Iran and to have on only people who a) are in the business of selling security services to the Government (Chertoff), or who are in the shameless demagogue business (Lieberman, Harman).

Apparently, they needed Lieberman to come on and let us all know that the late militia arrests 'are a threat, but not as big a threat as the global threat' (he actually used the word 'threat' three times in the same sentence), and Harman to let us know 'not ALL terrorists are Muslims', but Gregory couldn't find one American Muslim spokesman to come on and discuss the matter.

Apparently, there were no spokesmen of any other religion (other than those subscribing to Israeli nationalism) to be found in our nation's capital.

Kind of telling. One more Sunday flushing the possibility of rational discussion down the drain. Thanks, David!
