We don't do much for easter; it's not a big holiday for us.

I live alone, and will be traveling to my son's house this evening. Not for easter, but to celebrate my bday, belatedly. I spent that day, and this weekend, blissfully solitary. I don't know that I'm exactly thrilled about the bday; I've had enough that they no longer fill me with anticipation, lol. The dinner tonight is mostly so that my family can feel like they did something, and so that we can spend an evening together. There won't be cake, or ice cream, or presents, or baskets, eggs, or candy. Neither will there be any xtian rituals for the return of spring.

I had a yogurt and banana for Easter dinner, a close friend called and it is a rare warm and beautiful Easter Sunday in Northern Illinois. I am happy.

surrounded by two sleeping dogs and 5 sleeping cats! Just cleaned the bathroom, have laundry cooking in the dryer and the "Dopey Opie" episode of Andy Griffith on TV Land in the background. I'll spend my evening with a big bowl of air-popped popcorn with real melted butter & some salt, watching the Yankee/Red Sox game. Then tomorrow, it's back to the job search.
