14. Yeah, I'm up north too and it was a doozy.
Sister in Anaheim felt it but nothing unusual there. Parents in south in Kensington said it was amazing. Their first one since moving out West.

5. I knew it was big - you can tell how big by how long they go on, and
how far by whether they shake vs roll

6. As someone from the Northeast I tremble for you----earthquakes
and tornados are among my worst fears.

9. You can build for earthquakes. Hurricanes and tornados not so much.
And most of the time, you don't feel the quakes.
Of course, a quake in the NE would do a whole lot more damage that one here.

7. Two aftershocks already?
About 5 minutes after, there was a 3.2 on an Elsinor fault spur just north of Julian that Laz felt, and about a minute ago, we felt a small one that sloshed the water in the aquarium a bit here in North Park.

Probably wondering "why is that shit moving?"

The 14-year-old-wolfhound didn't even wake up.

24. I lived near the great rift valley and over a three year period
I became rather inured to them. I was told that during a rattler I sat up in my bed and said "Oh, another fucking earthquake." I don't remember the earthquake or waking up.
