Kerry Suspects 2004 Election Was Stolen

Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate in 2004, has told acquaintances over the past year that he suspects that the election was stolen, but that he didn’t challenge the official results because he lacked hard proof and anticipated a firestorm of criticism if he pressed the point.

Kerry heard all the disquieting stories” about voting irregularities in Ohio and other states, said Jonathan Winer, a longtime Kerry adviser and a former deputy assistant secretary of state. “But he didn’t have the evidence to do more.”

The Massachusetts senator conceded to George W. Bush on Nov. 3, 2004, the day after the election when it became clear that the uncounted votes in the swing state of Ohio were insufficient to erase Bush’s narrow lead.

The move infuriated some Democratic activists who felt Kerry should have lived up to his campaign promise that he would make sure every vote was counted. In January 2005, as Bush’s victory was being certified by Congress, Kerry also refused to back a resolution challenging the fairness of the Ohio vote.

* snip *

But Kerry’s decision not to fight has left millions of Americans wondering if their democratic birthright has been stolen – along with the last two presidential elections.

2. He and Rush Holt have been pressing this issue
I hope all the presidential contenders will make this a priority to speak about - LOUD AND OFTEN!
They need to start working on fixing the systems NOW.

3. Rush Holt is pushing for paper trails, right? Kucinich is pushing paper ballots.

5. Next in Weekly World News: Kerry Marries Space Alien
Seriously, this article is just innuendo; where's the beef? Who are the unnamed "acquaintances" who say that Kerry has said these things to them? It'd be nice to see some proof that they exist. All Winer says is that Kerry heard some stories; nothing about what conclusions Kerry came to.

Best of all would be to see proof that the vote was stolen. I don't see how anyone could expect Kerry to have fought without any solid evidence to fight *with*. If somebody's sitting on the evidence, bring it out.

6. A worthwhile endeavor for Kerry to correct..
If he truly feels as we all do,
the election was stolen right out from under him.

Hasn't anyone made this suggestion to him?

7. And just to add to what I posted earlier..
Just think, if over the last two years, Kerry would have been on a rampage championing election theft. He could have ridden in on a white horse this election cycle. This would have been an issue not only germaine to him, but something that would not only have angered the American people but they would have connected with him, solidifying a loyal base behind him by now.
