WA man pleads guilty to raping child live online

SEATTLE - A man accused of raping a 4-year-old girl and broadcasting it live online to a California pedophile pleaded guilty Friday in King County Superior Court.

Brian K. Beston, 36, of Kent, pleaded guilty to first-degree child rape, first-degree child molestation, sexual exploitation of a minor and dealing in child pornography.

Prosecutors will recommend that he be sentenced to a minimum of 26 years when he appears before Judge Regina Cahan for sentencing on May 14. Beston could also face up to life in prison.

His wife, Hollie Beston, 31, of Burien, also is accused of taking an active part in the sexual abuse and faces the same charges as her husband. She is scheduled for a court hearing on April 20.

According to court documents, the husband and wife abused the girl between June 2009 and Oct. 23, 2009, and sent child pornography to another accused child molester in San Diego whom they met online.

according to WA case law, police do NOT have these authorities vis a vis parolees (btw, we refer to parolees in WA as "active DOC". we don't call it "parole" )

DOC investigators have relatively broad powers, but rarely use them. but as for cops. i can stop a guy on active DOC and i have NO right to search him, for example.

i know this because i AM a WA cop.

there is a bill pending in the legislature to allow cops to make arrests for violating DOC conditions of release. at this point, we can't even do that. if we witness a parolee violating parole, we document a report, and DOC officer gets it, applies for a detainer/warrant, etc. this can take days

WA really does not handle "parole" well... at all. the clemmons case is just one example
