A few notes on airplanes and heads of state

just because the United States HAS a plane (actually two) dedicated for Presidential Duty, does not mean all heads of state fly in such comfort. In fact, to my knowledge, few countries do that... Mexico actually being on of the few in fact. Hell, the UK and Canada do not have birds dedicated to this duty.

So the fact that the Polish plane was a Civilian plane is not that strange.

Now on the speculation section... IF THIS WAS a coup, it is a lower level coup. The plane had the head of state, and the command staff of the military.

To me this is a sad accident, and to the victims, RIP.

On a personal note, if I see that many VIPs getting onto any plane... perhaps it is time to get off though... as you'd never know...

3. Brazil has one too. Early in his first term, Lula replaced the very old presidential plane

with a new one. The rightos screamed bloody murder, called him a profligate spender and worse.

In hindsight, maybe the biggest displeasure of the RW was that the new plane made crashes less likely.
