Hi, this is Stephanie with the Progressive Change Campaign Committee.

As we said earlier this week, we believe there are lots of talented progressives out there who have skills candidates for Congress should be tapping into (beyond licking envelopes and making phone calls).

We formed the Next Generation Of Talent initiative to connect these people and candidates together. This week alone, thousands of folks signed up!

Joining is free -- and people of all ages can join. We're looking for people who want to volunteer their skills or do paid work for candidates.

Skills being looked for: Ad design, web design, video editing, communications, grassroots organizing, research, art/music, Spanish translation, and dozens more. (If you have time, and want to volunteer, that's a skill too!)

I get mail from quite a few progressive organizations. The idea makes sense...

In my case I figure they think the've got a live one. I just delete 'em and go on with my life as usual.

I've been searching online for nursing facilities in my quest for a job. I can't tell you how many e-mails I've received asking if I need a "special place for Mom" or if I'm "not able to live on my own". What really pisses me off is what I'm still receiving for being on so many job sites. I have a Yahoo account just for potential employers and the inbox is filled on a daily basis with offers from Verizon, predatory lending institutions, etc. I posted my resume on so many different sites, I have no idea which one is the culprit.

I don't have the skills they want and am not physically able to canvas etc so I just deleted it.

7. I did an end run and went straight to their site.

It all sounds noble enough. They're trying to unseat corporate dems and replace them with progressives.

Their "Campaigns" page needs to be updated. Right now they're still trying to get the Public Option in the HCR.

Their "News" page's most recent article is from 12/29/09.

They have an address, but no phone number. Clicking on the "Contact Us" link only opened a new email in my (dormant) Outlook. I hate that.

Like I said, it all sounds noble enough. And maybe they're trying to ramp up their operation again. I just wish they had a phone number. But I'm pushing 50, and that's how us middle-aged folks roll...lol.
