1. They not only lost all the key leaders in government...

but military leaders as well. That would be hard for any country to deal with, whether they "liked" their politics or not.

2. When my parents traveled without me, they took separate airplanes

in case one went down in a plane crash, there would be one left alive to take care of me. It seems nations should look into the same practice of flying their leaders in separate aircraft so that they all don't go down at once.

3. Yes... this is what seemed unbelievable to me...

While I'm not sure many families take it to that level, most governments do. (and for good reason, it seems).
