Why Tigger Woods was rehabilitated so quickly....
...and why us poor schmucks would never be accorded the deference given to Playa Woods.

Because he brings in billions of dollars each year with his golf appearances; because player purses increase multi-fold with his presence; because the PGA would go back to the sport that nobody watches (except for a demographic that looks surprisingly like the TeaKlan); and because us poor schmucks need to adhere to a morality code called "family values" because we don't bring billions of dollars to the table.

So good luck, Tigger, 1000 years from now nobody will remember your name, fucker.

So, yes, I agree that 'sex addiction' is simply pop psych masquerading as science.

I believe there was a story that he wanted kinky sex with that porn star because (it was claimed) his wife was not interested in sex as much as he was. As shocking as this may seem to people who don't get out much, I've met people who performed certain types of sex with certain partners (who are married separately) because their spouses didn't want to do it.

The only thing I'm mad about is I'm not getting any of those high class hookers like Tiger is. He's getting the cream of the crop, er, well I guess they are getting the 'cream of the crop'.

95% of poor guys would be doing exactly what Tiger was doing with those women. That's what guys talk about amongst themselves and what they dream about if they had the money. Well Tiger has the money and he was just doing what a man does. I'm not faulting him at all. I am applauding him. If he was truly being himself afterward he would have just told everyone to go to hell and he is going to live his life the way he wants to live it. It's his life and why should he have to comply with everyone else's fake moral standards? If he likes pussy and he has the money to buy it, then he should be able to have sex 20 times a day if he wants.

He's just a regular guy, with lots of money.... and what's the point of having money if you can't use it to have fun and get laid? You might as well be poor...

74. Unfortunately, the 'poor' guys actually DO use their hands because they can't get beautiful women :)
At least they can't find women like Tiger does... Face it, women are attracted to money, and the more money a person has the more attractive they are to women. Look at Hugh Hefner. Look at Donald Trump. Both loaded, but always have great looking trophies around. I'm not suggesting all women are attracted to money, but given a choice between two men, one extremely rich with no heart, and a poor guy with a heart of gold, a lot of woman would pick the rich guy. It's in their DNA. It's part of their search for a hunter/provider to take care of them, a primitive trait carried forth through time since the caveman (and women) days.

The last time I checked, adultery isn't a crime in this country. Interesting how some Democrats who attack the Dobson crowd for telling THEM how to live have no problem interjecting themselves into someone else's personal life. As for this lament that Woods "got a pass", you tell me the last time you saw anyone, rich or not, who lost his or her job for having an affair outside the workplace. I think any of you that believe Tiger Woods personally owes you an apology or even an explanation of how he lives his life are out of your minds. How about minding your own business? Am I casting aspersions? Why yes, I am.

i don't think tiger owes me anything. i'm not the one who put him in the spotlight, put it in the spotlight a second time for his sexual adventures, or is now putting him in a third time as the process of rehabilitation (including his "apologies," which i didn't ask for, but *he* chose to make for continued access to $$$$) continues.

but ps: i believe solicitation & payment of prostitutes = illegal in most jurisdictions.

no faux outrage, please. i have nothing to do with tiger's position as golf idol & corporate pimp, nor with the fact that tiger gets to play by different rules than ordinary people.

62. So you have seen legitimate evidence of an actual crime
I mean evidence that would actually get a DA a conviction? There is no DA in the world that touches cases that have no tangible evidence. In the world of prostitution it is easier to nail the provider than the provided after the fact, unless he Jerry Springered it and wrote a check. LOL Jerry. I get your passion for the privileged rich. But really prostitution is something that crosses all socio-economic classes and prosecution of the provider over the provided is common also across the spectrum. Tiger Woods is hardly a case book example of the privileged escaping prosecution. Passing this case certainly dumbs down the argument against real and important miscarriages of justice in society. I get your anger but really this issue isn't worth your anger.

CALIFORNIA PROSTITUTION

Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney
California Criminal Lawyer

Solicitation and the Law

In California and most of the United States, the crimes of Prostitution, Solicitation, Pandering, and Loitering are against the law. Solicitation, Prostitution, Pandering, and Loitering are serious offenses that carry life-changing consequences. Prostitution law makes it a crime to offer, agree to or engage in sexual activity for money. In California, the “John”, as well as the prostitute, is aggressively prosecuted. First time offenses are usually charged as misdemeanors while subsequent offenses can be charged as felonies.

Thanks to sting operations, many prostitution arrests are made in large cities, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. At any given moment, innocent citizens with no criminal history often find themselves accused and arrested for Solicitation for Prostitution by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Massage parlors and escort services are under high scrutiny because of the long companionship encounters and temptation to ‘cross the line’.

Your life can radically change with a prostitution, solicitation, pandering, or loitering offense. The penalties and consequences for these types of sexual offenses can be serious and include the following:

Jail
Probation
Fines & Fees
Court-Enforced Counseling
AIDS Testing
Community Service
Cal Trans (physical labor)
Public humiliation
Loss of employment (for those with licenses or security clearances)
Other Penalty Considerations

Los Angeles - The War Against Prostitution

California, (especially LA County) has been cracking down on prostitution, solicitation, pandering, and loitering. Some of the measures taken include:

Performing Sting Operations - Setting up roadside sting operations involving scantily clad, beautiful women who are undercover police officers, for the purpose of luring drivers to stop and talk to the decoys and get them to agree to sex for a price.

http://prostitution-defense-attorney.com/

In recent years Los Angeles County has stepped up enforcement of solicitation of prostitution by using sting operations involving the use of a police decoy, these operations target "johns" instead of the actual prostitute. The theory behind this type of enforcement tool is that if the police remove the customer then the prostitutes themselves will go away.

The major problem with conducting these undercover prostitution stings is that they invariably ensnare innocent citizens and passersby that get caught up in the frenzy of arresting suspected solicitors of illicit sexual acts. It is not at all uncommon for aggressive police decoys to illegally entrap innocent unsuspecting men who may stop at the request of the undercover agent.

An arrest for solicitation of prostitution usually results in the impound of the vehicle being driven at the time of arrest. Long Beach Police in particular will pursue the forfeiture of the suspect's car, even before the individual is convicted of the suspected crime. The Los Angeles city prosecutor has a policy of no plea bargaining and will vigorously prosecute acts of Penal Code section 647(b).

San Francisco's "John School" Reduces Recidivism Among Men Arrested for Soliciting a Prostitute

April 22, 2008Abt Associates recently conducted a two-year evaluation of San Francisco's First Offender Prostitution Program (FOPP), designed to reduce the demand for commercial sex and human trafficking in San Francisco by educating "johns" arrested for soliciting prostitutes about the negative consequences of prostitution.

In the FOPP, eligible arrestees are given the choice of paying a fee and attending a one-day class (known generically as the "john school"), or being prosecuted. During its more than 12 years of operation, 5,735 men have attended the FOPP's john school. The fees support all of the costs of conducting the john school classes, as well as subsidizing police vice operations, the screening and processing of arrestees, and recovery programs for women and girls involved in commercial sex.

i read that as more than 477 people per year arrested for soliciting in san francisco alone.

52. I Suspect You'd Be Just As Outraged If None Of Those Women Were Prostitutes.
I don't believe it's the legal aspect that is bothering you.

which i've managed to keep to myself, recognizing that they'd consist of personal attack on a poster, which is against du rules.

Then suddenly, it was all about the prostitutes. Could it be you couldn't support your silly case of special treatment for Tiger Woods without dragging the supposed hookers into it?

By the way, do you know how many men go to jail in this country for soliciting prostitutes? Damn few. I guess Tiger's getting that special treatment that only all but a small handful of men in this country get.

But you keep up that outrage. That's a real useful thing to do.

43. "...woods is alleged to have used..." 'Alleged' is the key word here,
in that we read here on DU quite regularly about the presumption of innocence until...

Also quite telling is how the 'w' is lower case.

There is a lot of wealth and/or fame envy in this thread.

yes, it's all about my "envy" & "prudery". of course it is.

never about how the wealthy have a different rulebook. & by "wealthy," i mean not only woods, but his corporate backers & sponsors.

40. I object to a black man being called the name of a cartoon animal and playa here on DU.
Had you made your point without the names I wouldn't have been offended.

51. Actually, the rest of us wouldn't have to deal with a billion people in our business.
The rest of us would simply have a very pissed off wife to deal with.

and no one else.
