Colbert Fans--Wikipedia Entry
Last night on Colbert, Steve said he would give $5 to the first person to change the Wikipedia entry for Reality to "Reality has now become a commodity." I had my laptop next to me grading papers during the show and I went within 10 seconds to that Wiki entry. I had been changed. I regret not getting a screen shot. When I went back another 10 seconds later, it had been changed back to the "official" entry. Did anyone else see this? Could Colbert be any more cool?

2. I can't believe how fast
the whole transaction went through. Between Colbert putting the graphic with "Reality has become a commodity" on the screen and the Wiki entry being changed back its original, it could not have been more than 20-30 seconds. Anybody who waited until the commercial would never have known it would have happened.

3. It was lightning fast!
The rest of the page was blank, with only "Reality Is a Commodity" as the message, and then "poof" it was gone!LOL

5. There is a history tab at the top, which you can locate recent changes with
that would show who changed it first, and bring up a 'screen shot' of the change.

Its not easy to navigate the history section, as its a tad confusing, but the information is there.

6. What I thought
was funny was the clip from the hockey game and people had actually thrown GM's annual report on the ice! Hilarious!

8. Could Colbert be any more cool?
Surprisingly, yes. I have attempted to rally the Colbert Nation behind a project to rebuild a New Orleans street that just happens to bear the name of our Dear Leader.

Go to tcal.com/KatrinaPics/Lakeview/Picture29.jpg and see for yourself (much too large to post). I'm envisioning a Jackson Square-scale statue of Dr. Colbert, DFA at the Lake Pontchartrain end of the street, perhaps in the pose where he's whipping off his glasses during the opening sequence. :-)

I have even posted this to the Colbert Nation message boards. No reply. What's up with that?

12. How long ago did you post it?
I would believe that it would take a while for his staff to make decisions about things like this. It actually seems to me like something he would do.

13. Last week
it sank off the first page as fast as my GD posts do here at DU. Go figure.

Rebuilding the whole street, roughly two miles long, might be a tall order for even the highest-rated of cable shows, but, y'know, one house at a time...

11. Is the guy who owns/runs Wiki
that cool? If that is the truth, I would still think it is hilarious. And why didn't they leave it up a little longer?

14. Well say 1 Million watched Colbert
And 1 percent wanted to be the first: 10;000 attemps. The program would have tohave to allow the change , you would have to see it and then it would have to refresh for the next visitor.change who actually fo through. My guess is that only 100 people go through to change it.
