I'm damned annoyed with all the Lefties getting sucked into
the big lie machine of the RW media.

I'm no Hillary fan, but there is nobody in the world capable of getting through a whole speech, let alone an entire campaign season, without uttering something the flacks & whores can't spin or twist into grist for the propaganda mill. If you must fault Hillary, then do it for her lack of support for Kerry when he flubbed a line. For that matter, fault Kerry for letting the Dean Scream crap stand

Invented the Internet.

What the meaning of is is.

Dean Scream.

Evil men. Etc.

All non-issues spun into major flaps by a programmed media and abetted all too often by Democrats. It's time to stand together and shove it up their asses when they do this stuff. Make them talk about something real, like the war--or Hill's stance on it, for that matter. Not some bullshit about a joke they pretend to misunderstand.

1. Kerry never dumped on Dean for that RW lie about the scream. Hillary did
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 01:48 PM by blm
join McCain and Bush and scolded Kerry for insulting the troops - something she KNEW he never did, but was too craven and callous to not pile on with her RW allies.

I don't support the RW machine's LIE against her one bit, and I will continually point out that lie to the media, but here on DU, I am free to say: Karma is a bitch.

4. I'm certainly willing to back off on the Kerry thing.
He certainly did benefit by it, though.

5. He already won Iowa before the scream. Actually, Kerry extended his hand to Dean
and Dean reciprocated. One of the little known backstories to the campaign is that Kerry ended up trusting Dean and sent him around to fill in for him as a spokesman, trusting him more than the established insiders who he was SUPPOSED to trust during the general campaign.

The same with Clark, but then they had been friends for years before.

2. I agree the media takes things out of context
But blaming Kerry doesn't make any sense, he never said a word about the Dean Scream because it wasn't his mess to deal with. He also didn't make it worse by using it shamelessly to attack Dean either.

6. Boy, it's really sad to see that you didn't learn a thing after 04'.
I'm afraid it's going to be a long two years for a lot of Democrats if Hillary is nominated, and I would love to have her as president.

12. I'm not an apologist for Hillary.
Nor do I support her candidacy.
I will vote for her if she gets the nomination.

8. So how do plan on 'shoving it up their asses'?
Do you really think the media is going to stop talking about say a 'flubbed' joke, and instead start talking about the war-just because you want them to? What incentive would they have if ratings were better when they talked about some flap made by a Democratic candidate?

I say this because I agree with much of what you say, I just think you're wrong to think that you can change it.

And, you were obviously responding to my post, which was not because I got 'sucked into some RW media lie'. I started it because that is what we're going to see for two years if she is nominated. You might not like it, but the Clintons are good for ratings.

13. I think all the Dem candidates need to have prepared strategies.
"We're in a needless, losing war because the sitting President lied, and all you people want to talk about is whether Hillary was sniping at Bill? Let me tell you what I propose to do about the war."

9. Here we go... this thread will turn into another Hillary bashing thread.
For no other reason than you mentioned her name.

I agree with you, though. Wholeheartedly. It's too easy to get sucked into the non-issues.

10. I'll go further -- I am sick of Lefties gleefully jumping on board the right wing lie machine
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 02:46 PM by emulatorloo
if it serves as a way to bash Democrats they don't like for some reason. It is several degrees more than being "sucked in" sometimes . . . it seems like willing participation to score points and kick Dems when they are down.

The most recent episode was the Edwards's house nonsense.

Prior to that some many gleefully insisting that Kerry insulted our troops when we all knew damn well he screwed up an insult to BushBoy.

Now we have this Hillary joke idiocy.

Our Dems do not deserve this nonsense.

11. There is no possible way for any candidate to screw up ...
worse then our current president. There is nothing past or present that compares to the monumental stupidity of the asshole-in-chief. The RW media can try all it wants but we are going to keep coming back to the same undeniable truth. George W Bush is the worst president in the history of this country and there isn't even a close second.
