Palin, Nugent scheduled to attend NRA annual meeting in Charlotte

If you are a sport shooter, hunter, gun collector, firearms aficionado, or simply a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, mark the dates May 14-16, 2010 on your calendar. The venerable National Rifle Association will be holding its 139th annual meeting, with all the programs and exhibition associated with the event, at the Charlotte Convention Center. Show hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
At times over the years the annual meeting has been interesting for the business conducted, most notably for the "Revolt in Cincinnati" in the late 1970s (when a group led by Harlon Carter and solidly backed by Life Members threw out the organization's leaders and took the organization in a new direction), but historically it has been more noteworthy for high-profile speakers and what it offered members in terms of exhibits, special educational sessions, and the like. The 2010 meeting will be no exception in this regard, with Sarah Palin on the agenda as a keynote speaker for Friday and Fox talk show host scheduled for Saturday. The agenda also includes big names such as Ted Nugent.

http://www.heraldonline.com/2010/04/25/2116687/palin-nugent-scheduled-to-attend.htmlThe rhetoric in the "article" is pro-Palin and pro-NRA. One assumes the apologist NRA die-hards on this board will cling to the fantasy that the group is somehow a "neutral" organization... (note the touting of the Fox News presence, as well...)
