Raw Video: President Obama Drops-In on an Iowa Diner
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/04/27/raw-video-president-obama-drops-iowa-diner

Posted by Kori Schulman on April 27, 2010 at 08:40 PM EDT

The President continued his series of White House to Main Street tours with stops through Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. After touring Siemens Energy, Inc. in Fort Madison, Iowa, the President made an impromptu visit to Jerry's Family Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant where he greeted Iowans and wished 107-year-old Frances Asher a happy birthday. Watch some raw footage from the visit:

2. We got to see him in Fort Madison just before that.
As he left I kind of lost my cool and shouted at the top of my voice "Barack, your doing a great job, man. Keep it up."
He turned and pointed his index finger at me and said "Thanks, Glad to hear that. I need to hear that once in a while."

5. Is there also a Madison, Iowa or is Fort Madison, also called Madison?

8. There is a Madison County
that's over by Des Moines someplace (remember "Bridges of Madison County?")
Mason City is sometimes referred to as Mason by locals. Far as I know everybody refers to Fort Madison as Fort Madison.

14. Thanks. Then when people said Madison referring to a town, they
were referring to Fort Madison. Now I know where it is for sure.

3. Awesome!
POTUS asked what her secret was to looking so good at her age. The woman told POTUS her secret was eating some garlic every night. He has the most amazing way to connect with people. I admire him for his common touch.

6. Gracious, kind, thoughtful, gentle soul
and with a steel rod for a spine. Agree or disagree with his performance in the office, you gotta love and respect the guy.

7. We all have varied political views when it comes to the President
but no one can deny what a fine individual he is. A very genuine, compassionate human being. I'm very glad he's our president.

I've watched the video a couple of times...the only one who gets up and leaves is David Axelrod.
