Murder! Poisoning!! Laura Bush's new book "Spoken From the Heart" is out soon
Laura tells us all how it really was. :eyes:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/36818869/ns/politics-the_new_york_times/

She talks about the night she killed a class mate/former boyfriend in Midland. Blames it on inattention and his crappy car. She didn't go to the funeral, and regrets it.

She and Bush were poisoned in Germany.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were mean to George.

The New Orleans fly over was in the best interests of the people of New Orleans.

Enough already!

31. There's probably more truth in that observation than we know.
The falling off the chair while eating a pretzel incident is another.

And the bike accident.

And the fact he stumbled when he walked so often.

Then there's that incident when he tried to ride that motorized contraption Amazon sold. (Fell off.)

Drunk. Eight years in the White House screwing up the country while drunk. Nice. :eyes:

Being sandwiched between Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama isn't flattering in the least. She must feel she needs to do something to bring attention to herself since she did nothing for 8 years. It's no surprise she feels the need to talk about killing her boyfriend just to get remembered.

But how were they poisoned? And why didn't it work?

8. The Bush Family isn't big on washing their hands after they use the toilet.
Edited on Wed Apr-28-10 07:18 AM by Ian David
<snip>

Ms. Bush also suggests, apparently for the first time, that she, Mr. Bush, and several members of their staff may have been poisoned during a visit to Germany for a G8 Summit.

They all became mysteriously sick, and the president was bedridden for part of the trip.

The Secret Service investigated the possibility they were poisoned, she writes, but doctors could only conclude that they all contracted a virus.

After noting several high-profile poisonings, she wrote, “we never learned if any other delegations became ill, or if ours, mysteriously, was the only one.”

Edited on Wed Apr-28-10 07:22 AM by SpiralHawk
And she has no evidence whatsoever of the alleged 'poisoning,' just the doctors opinion that is was a virus. But she whines about supposed 'poisoning' all the same. Ptoooey.

Republicons just don't do honor or respect, do they...

13. Kinda insulting to the SS as well
They at least portray themselves as pretty careful about the food that gets to the president. She's basically saying they screwed up without any evidence to back up such an accusation. Imagine what the GOP would do if Hillary did such a thing.

14. The rest is almost worse - she blames "his crappy car" as well as her "inattention"
Edited on Wed Apr-28-10 08:09 AM by karynnj
So, every one in the area should have driving tanks, less young Laura hit them when she was "inattentive". It is beyond "inattentive" when you cross an intersection without looking for oncoming cars. I can't believe she did not reach out to the parents. It would have been hard, but, as a parent, I know it would have meant something to me had it happened to one of my kids. This is especially true as they likely knew her to some degree. Her comments that she "prayed to God" the other driver was uninjured really fall flat. (Having read how thoroughly they did opposition research on the wonderful Teresa Heinz Kerry, who the Republicans loved when she was married to her first husband, the fact that the media was sympathetic to Laura in 2000 and idolized Laura in 2004 is pathetic.)

It sounds like the Secret Service ruled out poisoning. If that is so, her comments here are an insult to the German hosts. It seems wrong for someone in her position to make this accusation. Her strange comment of not knowing if other delegations were affected is creepy. A virus that a staffer (or Bush) had before going on the plane could have spread. That the staff were also sick makes it far more likely that it was NOT poisoning. It would seem far more complicated to devise a plan to poison the entire American delegation than it would be to poison one man - and what would the motive be for poisoning the staff as well.

32. The comment about the guy's car bothered me as well.
How little of her to complain that had he been driving a Cadillac, he might have survived.

I saw a photo of the intersection, there was nothing blocking it. It was a clear night. His car could be seen coming for a long distance. He had his headlights on. Laura passed that stop sign every day for years, but forgot to stop?

One report was that they had been dating, and he dumped her sorry ass not long before the "accident."

We'll likely never know, but any woman who can stand by a man like Bush after all he's done is no saint.

35. I really don't want to go there - on the idea that he dumped her and the implication
it was intentional. She was not charged at all apparently.

But, the story as it is shows a heartlessness that contradicts the media image. These comments actually shock me as this was an incident from over 40 years ago - and in that length of time, especially given all her vaunted Christian values, the excuses that might have been a needed shell at 17, should have been replaced by taking responsibility.

The excuses are so transparent - and baseless.

The road was dark?? In that case, wouldn't the headlights of a car actually have made it stand out more than it might have in the day time?

His car was less heavy than hers'. That transfers responsibility to the victim - which as you say is "little".

Then not at least writing to his parents. This is cowardly and classless.

I think the politics on both sides has often demonized imperfect people, but in the cases of the Buishes, for some reason, the media actually reported a facade that was better than either of them was.

And to think that the young lady who perished in the car accident was her friend. With friends like Laura Bush you don't need enemies. To not show up to the funeral or extend her condolences for causing an accident that took their child's life, she is a true repug.

Does she admit to ANY fault? What was so dangerous about the intersection? Why didn't she slow down in the dark conditions?
