I'm thinking that eating natural food without all the preservatives and high fructose sweetened crap we ingest is what made them ill - their stomachs weren't used to it.

3. I don't know, remember how many times they tried to kill Hitler and failed
But I do see what you mean - if I tried to kill someone I would make sure it was a hundred times overkill dose to make absolutely sure.

4. It takes a lot of killing to off something as evil as Shrub or Vehicular Homicide. IF it did happen
someone did a piss-poor job.

Why are the operatives on our side so ineffective while theirs' succeed so often?

6. Food poisoning is different than actually poisoning something
They probably left the food sitting out after they fed some to the rats and it turned bad. Leave it to Pickles to no understand the difference.

7. This is very easily cleared up.
Did the household food taster get sick, too?

If not, it was a virus. (unless the food taster was in on it, of course.)

8. You're Missing The Point
In order for us to believe the myth that "terrorists hate and fear Republicans," they have to answer the question, "Why didn't any of our various 'enemies' try to assassinate Bush?" Since they KNOW that the answer to the question is, "Because Bush was the best friend the terrorists ever had," they figure they now have to come up with a plausible-sounding backstory. And apparently that backstory is, "They DID try to kill us by poisoning our food!!!"

Seriously, Laura, we're talking about a guy who was almost done in by an UNTAINTED pretzel. You really think he's got the fortitude to pass POISON through his system? The Bushes are notorious for their weak constitutions (see Bush's daddy throwing up on Japanese P.M.) What I think happened was that a bit of animal brain made it into the meat, and as soon as an iota of brains entered Bush's system, his body rejected it.

10. 6 months from now the haters will have spun reality on this claim enough that Obama
(or the usual liberal suspects) will somehow be blamed. You saw it here first.

11. Their doctors said it was a virus, but of course they are educated professionals she they are wrong.
Must have been poison. Only explanation.

In all seriousness, that delusion is probably the result of a guilty conscience. She was aware the world hated her, and knew they deserved it, so in her fantasy the world was trying to kill her. That makes the world the aggressor and therefore they deserve what they get. It's the same mentality behind every thug who brutalizes someone, then feels outraged when that someone fights back.

I always felt a touch of sympathy for her, feeling like she was in over her head, probably not fully engaged, and probably basically a battered spouse. I doubt a man as prone to violence and cruelty as Bush was a nice guy when he--by his own admission-- came home drunk every night for so many years. There was a level of sympathy for her.

Reading her comments from this book, those feelings are gone. She is as pathetic and disgusting as her spouse. Her story about the crash and her detachment from it--her feelings of Hollywood guilt without any real acceptance of her direct guilt in it--are signs of a shallow, simple mind. No wonder she was drawn to the hollow playboy cowboy who pretended to be from Texas. Her life was a fantasy of her own creation, so George fit right in. Not to mention, she probably subconsciously felt he was her punishment, while convincing herself she was happy.

I can't ever recall reading a personal testimony like that from someone and disliking them more than before. Until this.

14. It's bull....even a medical student could have found traces of poison
this was said to make it seem more dramatic....you are correct in saying, if someone wanted to poison him, they would have made sure they really got him.
